FALL GIVEAWAY!

I thought it was time to have another blog giveaway! I have three fun items for this giveaway. See the rules for entering below.

A little story on the pumpkin votive holder. I made this sweet little guy in 2011, for some reason he has not sold. He has been looking at me from across the craft room in dismay; wondering why he is still an orphan!! I told him that I would find him a good home once and for all. He is looking forward to being adopted. He is a one-of-a-kind sculpt made by me out of paperclay on a wood base that I hand painted. If you look at him closely you will see that I made a mistake with the way the eyes are looking, can you see it? Oh well... none of us are perfect right? Here is what you could win....

An adorable prim snowman note pad, one of my handmade raspberry lemonade scented soaps and a pumpkin with a removable glass votive or tea light holder.

A little bit of show and tell here! I am having a Birthday tomorrow and my sweet friend Carol Stuck of Buttermilk Creek Farms sent me these sweet presents! She is such a sweetheart for even sending me anything. I loved my gifts and wanted you all to see them too! We shall not mention however how old I really am...
Now this made me crack up laughing!! This is a box of stationary with the most adorable things on it as you can see. Just so happens that I can relate to the saying, tee hee, yep I have plenty of days that I can agree with feeling a bit witchy!! LOL This reall made me smile....:-)
But that was not all, I also got a "I am feeling witchy" cup so when the cards are gone I can still get a chuckle from drinking my coffee in this cup. And we all know how lucky I am to have received this super cute Christmas mouse!! anyone who owns Carol's work knows.... it is simply adorable. Carol makes the cutest things and has a magic touch with everything she creates! This litter mouser  is holding a tiny rolling pin and a gingerbread cookie. She has on a tiny gingerbread cookie mix apron. I simply LOVE  everything my sweet friend. Check out CArol's blog by finding the link I have for her on my left side bar.

Rosehips drying and new patterns coming!

I figured it was time for a little show and tell again! First I want to show you all a Prim Snowman stocking I have been working on for a customer. Since I was working on him anyway, I figured I would also make this sweet fellow up as a pattern. I designed this last year actually and am just now getting to the pattern part of it, some of you may even remember him. My friend Carol of buttermilk creek farms owns the first one I made, she named him Harold! LOL I am guessing this pattern will be done by the end of this week or first of next. Here he is....
He is so sweet! I am excited to be offering this one because I do think all you sewers out there will enjoy making him. I am going to be including a printable sheet of labels like you see hanging from his stocking with this pattern.

Tomorrow I will have my canned pumpkins pattern ready to go online. This jar is a bit different than my last one, this one has a rusty lid and I love how it looks! This jar actually has 4 pumpkins in it, the other one is on the side and cannot be seen from the front view. In this pattern you will get a printable sheet of labels as seen here along with the pattern. From now on when I have a tag with my projects, you will be able to print full sheets yourself.

Here is the side view, now you can see the other little guy hiding.

My friend Christine has some giant rose bushes in her beautiful garden and you wouldn't believe how loaded they are with rosehips!! She and I picked some, but trust me I was tired of picking before I got them all, that will have to be another day. Here you see three very large trays full of rosehips in the drying process, here they are a day into drying and are starting to wrinkle up. They really are gorgeous things aren't they? Rosehips need to be picked now until the first part of October or after the first frost. I am drying them on trays, it will probably take 2 weeks or so.
After they are dry and hardened up, they can be made into potpourri, or arranged in a bowl around some prim candles, really they can be used in any way you can dream up. They can be scented by putting them in a glass jar, add several drops of scent. Shake the jar a couple times a day for a week or so and that's it. Rosehips are one of the items I have in my canned pumpkins.
Here is a closer view. As they dry they get more wrinkles and darken up a bit. I may sell the extra's I won't be using on my website.

Speaking of... I am in the process and will be for awhile now of adding some supplies on my website. I'll keep you posted. I have a few things now like mica, twisty pods, pattern bags a few rusty thing etc....It takes a lot of time to put all the items on, so this will be an on going project.

If you know someone who has rose bushes, hit them up for the rosehips! I shudder to think how many must just get discarded. Do any of you have some unique ideas of how to use these? I would love to know what I am missing!

Well that's it for now! Thanks for stopping by.

Fall Harvest Tag Freebie!!

Hello and happy Sunday!

I have been trying to figure this tag making thing out and I am making progress! In celebration of some successful attempts at this I want to offer my first FREEBIE!! You will be able to download and print a full sheet of tags like the example below. There are nine 2 x 3 oval tags to a sheet. I hope you enjoy them! Remember when you get your printer box up to make sure that "FIT TO PRINTABLE AREA" is selected. Just click on the picture to get your free tags.

I also wanted to share a sweet early Birthday present I received from my friend Kim DeWalt of Old Road Primitives. I got two darling country pumpkins with saying all over them and tea light candle holder that uses the scented melts all in wonderful fall fragrances!! This is just the perfect thing to kick off Fall, thank you my friend.

I have been suffering with arm pain from too much typing and computing! Sigh... but am plugging along anyway to get things done in the craft room. I am almost ready to launch my canned pumpkins and a snowman stocking will be right at it's heels.

That's it for today
Blessings

Pattern is ready! Cake postcard tutorial.

I just wanted to pop in here and let you know that my Prim Winter Friends pattern is done and available for purchase on patternmart, my website or Etsy. It won't be long now and I'll have my canned pumpkin pattern done. Ya know... these patterns just take a lot of time to write up and create. I had visions of pumping out all kinds of patterns in a hurry, but soon realized that wasn't going to happen! I guess I am human after all. :-)

I am also going to attempt to try and have some of the items used in my patterns for sale on my website. I will be putting the little rusty snowflakes you see on the snowman on my web soon as well as the twisty pod snowman noses. I am still looking for a good source for them.

I just have to share this neat tutorial with you all. My friend LeeAnn Kress let me know about it and I absolutely love the idea, isn't it cute! Basically it shows how to make a very realistic piece of cake from a sponge, spray paint and caulking. You can take and make a postcard with it or I could see making some to set out in the kitchen! Go the tutorial HERE

Is that not the cutest thing! I hope you enjoy this tutorial as much as I did. I am always up for learning new things especially when they are as unique as this is.

Blessings......

Canned Pumpkin, antique horse, soap and Hobby Lobby!

Hello friends....

I have some things I want to share. I got this idea in a bored moment not too long ago and went with it. I will be selling my jar of canned pumpkin on Pfatt and will also be offering it's pattern soon. I know it is silly so don't laugh too hard, but I think it's kinda cute too. The pumpkins aren't as orange as the picture portrays them, I tried to edit it so it was more true, but it didn't work. They are deep, just not as bright as you see.
There are three painted pumpkin heads in my canning jar, but I could have added a couple more small ones in the back but I figured that wouldn't get too much attention anyway. I filled up the blank spots with rosehips, cinnamon pieces and moss. For now I have a lid that I glued homespun on, but have ordered a rusty lid that I will use when I get it.

Here is a sideview so you can see the other little face peeking out! I think it helps to have a sense of humor with our creativity don't you? :-)
Here is more of the back view where you can see all the goodies inside. Now lets hope no one gets the bright idea to make pumpkin pie anytime soon! LOL

I also want to share that I went into Spokane today and on the North end is a new Hobby Lobby! WOOOO HOOOO!!! I am in love with this store. Michaels looked so sad standing right next to it, I kinda felt bad really. Yes, you read that right, they put thier new massive store right next door to Michaels. I have always loved Michaels, but I do have a new love and it's HL. This is an incredible store with all it's choices, I am thrilled that I now have easy access to it. I shopped till I dropped today literally.

I have to show you all my latest anique store find, I just purchased this old horse, the horse hair tail is still even partially there. I really loved the price of only 69.00, I grabbed him up in a second. I have always loved these but finally found the one I wanted to purchase. I love the mood he has. I have no idea how old he really is.

I have four new batches of soap curing that will be available for purchase in the near future on my website.
This one is cranberry fig, a great one for using or giving during the holiday season. This soap is simply mouth-watering. All my soaps are wrapped with a band of matching pretty paper and a bow. I have examples of this on my website.
This batch is an interesting mix I came up with to use up little bits left of several scents. Here is the list of smells in this one: Pearberry, Pineapple Cilantro, Green Apple, Fresh Lemonade and a bit of Huckleberry Harvest. All I  have to say is YUM!!
This one is Raspberry Lemonade, and yes it smells exactly like Raspbery Lemonade, simply lovely!!

This marbled green, cream and rusty brown soap is a mens soap scented in Woodlands. Ladies..... this is truly what we want all our men to smell like, trust me. (Wink)

Okay, that's it for today, thanks so much for stopping by! Blessings......

Prim Winter Friends

I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend! It is hard to believe that Fall is coming and summer is almost over, where did the time go?

My hubby and I just celebrated our 29th anniversary! Speaking of time, how can that be possible? I feel like it was just yesterday that I was walking down the isle. We had a three day get away at the Northern Quest resort, what a nice place, I highly recommend it.

I can't tell you I have been getting a lot accomplished, but I have found some time to spend in the craft room. I want to share my latest with you. You have already seen the ginger but I just finished his snowman friend. This duo will be for sale on Pfatt Marketplace this month as well as my next pattern. I will be finished with the pattern within a week.

These prim winter friends are about 10" tall and can hang on a wall, the tree or fill that perfect container or shelf. This is a fun and easy pattern to complete.

Well that's it for now, I'll be sharing another project soon, here is a hint..... Canned Pumpkin!!
Blessings....
